HealthTAP certifications and training modules help healthcare teams build a shared improvement language and practical skills they can apply in real workflows. Whether you are developing frontline problem solving habits or preparing leaders to facilitate complex improvement work, we meet you where you are and build capability that lasts.

Professional Certifications

Lean certifications that build internal improvement leaders

HealthTAP offers a range of certifications designed to support healthcare organizations and professionals in achieving excellence and growth. These programs equip individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to drive positive change, improve processes, and enhance patient safety. By embracing these certifications, healthcare entities can thrive in a dynamic environment and commit to delivering high-quality care, positively impacting patient outcomes and the overall healthcare experience.

Lean Green Belt Certification

After a 2-day training course, the Lean Daily Improvement (LDI) Facilitator possesses the basic knowledge, skills to effect change using proven lean methodologies and understands how to make small but meaningful daily adjustments while work is being done, and to sustain the gains (holding metrics) made through other change efforts. LDI builds a team-based, continuous improvement habit at the point of service.

Lean Yellow Belt Certification

After a 4-day training course, the learner is focused on learning how to facilitate events intending to build organizational capacity for process improvement. The Lean Practitioner (LP) plans, delivers and facilitates-to-closure Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs).

Lean Black Belt Certification

After this 4-day training course, the Advanced Lean Practitioner (ALP) learns to plan and lead multi-day Value Stream Analysis (VSA) events, implement/deploy advanced solutions like Kanban and lean service cells, and take on broader responsibilities in Value Stream Management and complex Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) to facilitate the spread of successful solutions across the organization.

Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

After this 4-day training course, learners will be able to demonstrate the ability to utilize FMEA to identify and prevent potential process and/or service failure modes including risks to patients and staff and mitigate risks through process redesign. Following the FMEA event, the learner will participate in implementation planning and daily continuous improvement processes.
